Amanda Dixey, whose husband Tom Dixey is a chef at The Lobster Shanty in Salem, died unexpectedly after a "brief illness" on Sunday morning, Jan. 29, according to a GoFundMe

"Amanda was one of the most fun-loving people around with a sharp, witty sense of humor," the campaign reads. "Amanda and Tom had a magical romance and her family are heartbroken."

Amanda's death hit many others hard with several taking to social media to honor her.

"She wasn’t only my sister, who lived with me for many years," one Facebook user said. "We became best friends and spent a lot of good times together and I will never forget them."

"I know we haven't spoken in years but the memories that are now flooding my mind make it feel like we just spoke yesterday," another said. "I'm at a loss. I'm so sorry Amanda Dixey. I will always cherish those memories and this is how you will forever stay in my mind."

In addition to her husband, Amanda leaves behind her father Luis Rivera, step-mother Yoanny Rivera, her half-sisters Tatianna, Maya and Kayla Rivera, and many more family and friends.

Services will be held for Amanda at Levesque Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday from 4-8 p.m, The Lobster Shanty said. People interested in donating can click here
